How to Take Up Space

In order to be a change maker we seek inspiration, build self-belief, garner support then take action.

There are multiple ways to
Take Up Space.

  • Standing tall
  • Making eye contact
  • Calling out injustice
  • Challenging the norm
  • Saying No
  • Wearing what lights you up
  • Allowing time for creativity
  • Speaking up
  • Starting a movement
  • Having tough conversations
  • Asking for help
  • Accepting help
  • Seeing a wrong & trying to right it
  • Going to a rally
  • Applying for grants
  • Changing your mind
  • Being different
  • Asking questions
  • Starting a business
  • Speaking about your passion
  • Nominating a worthy candidate for an award
  • Saying Yes
  • Having a go
  • Starting a podcast
  • Writing a blog
  • Performing your poetry
  • Standing for local government
  • Taking the first helping
  • Holding an event
  • Dreaming large
  • Setting a goal

About our founder

Loretta Hart

"Build your Wings on the Way Down"

This year I turn 50 and am aware that I have much to say and share but am entering the invisible zone within society.

I choose to not only elevate my voice but those of women and non-binary people who are ready to be heard.

I am ready to Take Up Space.

I love to support people to make positive change in their lives and through the use of radio and podcasting I think I’ve found the perfect vehicle for me.

But everyone’s different. Take Up Space explores how you can do it your way. The process doesn’t differ but your action is your own to develop.

Through my time in education, brick and mortar business, online business and now media, I have developed skills and a network of amazing professionals who I’m excited to involve in this movement.

But I’m impatient. I know good things come to those who wait, but my mum always says, “God helps those who help themselves!”

Not overly religious, just practical. Let’s get moving.
